I'm getting Waxed, what do I do now?

Wohooo, you've booked your appointment & you're one step closer to the smoothest skin of your life. Here's what to do for best results

Waxing pre + post care

Waxing is a journey, and it's important to understand that achieving super smooth results can take a little time. It's common with courser hair types to need 2-3 waxes before seeing the desired outcome. With each wax, the hair will become finer and sparser, resulting in a longer-lasting, smoother finish. Do your aftercare, trust the process.

2-3 weeks before

STOP SHAVING. This is the worst part, trust me. You'll never be this hairy again once you start your waxing journey. We need the hair to be 1/4 inch or the length of a grain of rice for the wax to grab properly

1 week before

Exfoliate & moisturise 2-3 x a week.

Dead skin & dry hair can really impact the result you get on the day. Dry hairs are brittle & more prone to snapping when waxed. Dead skin cells can cause hairs to get trapped underneath (ingrown hairs) & these wont be able to be removed.

Use a gentle, natural sugar scrub like RUFF STUFF daily scrub (available from Wax It) 2-3 times this week to exfoliate & moisturise the skin.

1 week before

Stop using  sun beds & don't get sunburnt in the area you're getting waxed

On the Day

Wear loose comfortable clothing to your appointment if possible.

You can take some painkillers 30 minutes before your appointment to ease the sting (completely not necessary but whatever makes you feel better!)

Don't forget to pick up your home care products at your appointment (scrub, wash & ingrown hair solution)

0- 48 hrs post wax

You must keep your skin COOL + CLEAN during this time.

Avoid friction, heat, sweat & bacteria on the skin- this means no swimming, saunas, hot tubs, touching, sex, exercise, sun bathing, sun beds ect

Don't use any products in the area unless its an antibacterial soothing cream or aloe vera gel.

Baths & showers are fine, not too hot & don't use any products on the areas that have been waxed.

For intimate waxing, go underwear free and wear loose bottoms if you can. let that skin BREATHE.........

No deodorant for 24 hrs after underarm waxing.

3 days post wax

Start your 2-3 x weekly exfoliating + moisturising routine using a gentle exfoliator or Lycon Ingrown X-it spray after showering.

Use a gentle, natural sugar scrub like RUFF STUFF daily scrub (available from Wax It) 2-3 times a week to exfoliate & moisturise the skin.

4-6 weeks later

Time for your next wax!
